Location APIs for logistics and transport

Validate delivery locations, calculate routes and compare travel times between depots, customers and field teams with GeoNexa.

Why does location matter?

An address is more than a line in an order record. Ambiguous building numbers, incomplete postal details and misplaced depots can disrupt a delivery workflow before a driver starts moving. GeoNexa helps convert address descriptions into coordinates that your application can use consistently across mapping and routing features.

How does it work?

Once a location is resolved, a routing request can produce a route geometry, estimated distance and estimated travel duration. Dispatch software can display the itinerary on a map or compare a planned journey with operational requirements. Estimated journey time should not be confused with a guaranteed arrival time or live traffic prediction.

Examples

Example implementation

For larger networks, a distance matrix compares origin–destination pairs in a single structured calculation. It can help choose a nearby depot, estimate service coverage and supply travel-cost inputs to an allocation algorithm. The business rules for vehicle capacity, opening times and driver schedules remain under your control.

What should you consider?

Consider a company with three distribution centres and eighty customer stops. Its workflow geocodes incoming addresses, checks candidate travel times from each centre and uses the resulting matrix to shortlist suitable dispatch locations. The company’s own software then assigns vehicles and creates the operational plan.

Which location data can you use?

Address quality, route restrictions and request-size limits matter. Cache repeatable calculations when appropriate, handle unreachable destinations explicitly and distinguish an estimate from a measured journey. Consult each endpoint’s live specification before promising a particular transport profile or traffic capability.

Frequently asked questions

Does GeoNexa schedule drivers automatically?

GeoNexa provides geospatial data and route calculations; dispatch rules, scheduling and fleet allocation belong in your application.

Are estimated travel times based on live traffic?

Do not assume real-time traffic support unless it is explicitly documented for the selected endpoint.

Do I need a separate API key for each feature?

GeoNexa is designed around shared access to location services. Confirm authentication details, service availability and limits in the current docs and account dashboard.

Can I use the results in my own website?

The APIs are designed for integration. Review the terms and documentation for allowed uses and data retention rules.
